We will provide safe routes into and through the site for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.
A new vehicular access point will be created onto Rendham Road with good visibility splays. At this point Rendham Road will be widened to incorporate right hand turning lanes for those vehicles approaching the site from the A12 and for vehicles accessing Brook Farm Road from the east.
A new pavement will be provided on the south side of Rendham Road adjacent to the site and two new pedestrian ‘refuges’ will assist crossing of Rendham Road. A special slip road will be provided for ambulances exiting the ambulance station
In addition to pedestrian access from the north, there will be a pedestrian / cycle route linking to Mayflower Avenue and pedestrian routes to the Recreation Ground.
We will retain the existing public footpaths which cross the site, re-routing where necessary to provide a safe and convenient route.
