The existing community on the west side of Saxmundham has no local convenience store within reasonable walking distance. We are therefore proposing a small shop located on or close to Rendham Road. It will provide purely for local ‘top-up’ shopping needs and will sell a limited range of newspapers, confectionary, tobacco, and food and drink. It will serve the immediate local community and will not be an alternative to, or compete with, the wide range of town centre shops and services. The shop would provide approximately another five jobs.
